About "Art of Warble"Michael Finucane Biography: |
||
Michael Finucane is a mythic artist that has specialized in a variety of different subgenres involving faerie art, Arthurian literature, and world mythology. Over the past ten years, he has studied various watercolor techniques and figurative drawing. With these skills, he has been involved in being published in various magazines such as Faerie Magazine, Fae Magazine and The Faeries and Angels Magazine. While this type of mythological specialization has been productive, Michael has been published in literary magazines, such as Taj Mahal Literary Review and its subsidiary publications, in which he has done many illustrations and covers. By specializing in mythic art, this provided a course of action that leads to a professional vision of his work as a means to create a visionary perspective on literary texts.
With a wide range of skills as an illustrator, Michael developed other means in which to utilize his unique vision of an art nouveau to sell his prints in the marketplace. This aspect of his career involved working with Kim Cross of Faerie Magazine on a promotional deal to sell his prints worldwide. Also, various renaissance festivals, such as Rhonda Napoleon’s Cloudcroft Renaissance Fair in New Mexico, invited and sponsored Michael to come to Cloudcroft as a Guest of Honor for two consecutive years. With so many wonderful people involved in this aspect of his career, his vision could be expressed to a larger audience. This is an important facet of his work as an artist, especially in creating diverse and unique ways in which to promote a mythic vision and business acumen that has created incredible alliances in his artistic journey. Michael has also published the children’s book “Lost in the Forest of the Faerie Queen” in 2008. With the help of Tina Taylor of Gig Harbor Design, he was able to fully illustrate, as well as write a story in the art nouveau tradition. With 250 first edition pressings being sold out, the focus on illustration via watercolor technique and pen work provided a wonderful world in which children and adults alike could become enamored of the word of faeries. While illustrating would provide many years of development, it would not be long before fine art would draw his attention toward oil painting and classical composition. The allure of fine arts would soon change Michael’s stylistic towards more intensive figurative studies in drawing and painting in the classical atelier style. By having shown his work in many Hartford area galleries in Connecticut, his vision has intensified in promoting greater realism in art for the book publishing industry. The work of Rembrandt, Gustave Moreau, and others influence his approach to classical painting. With this new vision, Michael intends to pursue these visions and to explore the many new and wonderful options they offer as an illustrator and as a fine arts painter. |
